• Find the new Library Media Endorsement Standards adopted Aug 2007 on the OASL Professional Development page for certified LMS. Thanks to Springfield Public School employees for giving us an easier-to-read version in .doc or .rtf!


• Cyberbullying : Click on House Majority Leader Dave Hunt's page and scroll down for info and a link to HB 2637 recently passed in the Oregon House.
  --On the Illinois Library Assn. website find a set of 3 bookmarks on Cyberbullying, Safe Blogging and Social Networking. They can be ordered at http://www.ila.org/netsafe/, $8 for 100...or download the master and print locally at no charge.


• OREGON READS!
  OLA is helping organize the Oregon Reads! project as part of the Oregon Sesquicentennial Celebration in 2009. If you are interested in helping write curriculum for any of the 3 books by Oregon authors being highlighted, please contact Sharon Buehler at sbuehler@msd.k12.or.us
  The 3 books are:
  Stubborn Twig by Lauren Kessler for adults and high school students,
  Bat 6 by Virginia Euwer Wolff for middle school students, and
  Apples to Oregon by Deborah Hopkinson for elementary students.
