The AECT School Media and Technology Division awards
the School Library Media Specialist of the Year Award to individuals who exhibit excellence in the
library/media field through service to students, teachers and the community at the K-12 levels.
Several OEMA Library Media Teacher of the Year recipients have also been awarded this national recognition!

YALSA - Young Adult Library Services Association
The Baker & Taylor/YALSA Conference Grant is
a $1000 grant funded by the Baker and Taylor Company and awarded to librarians who work in a public or school library with
young adults. This grant enables librarians to attend the Annual Conference for the first time.
Applications must be received in the YALSA office by December 1.

AASL - American Association of School Librarians
ALA's American Association of School Librarians awards
many awards, grants and scholarships for different reasons. Among those are the
AASL National School Library Media Program of the Year (NSLMPY) Award, sponsored by Follett Library Resources Company and awarded to exemplary school library programs
fully implemented into their school's curriculum, and the
AASL Collaborative School Library Media Award, sponsored by Sagebrush Corporation and awarded to school librarians and teachers who have met the goals of
Information Power by collaborating on a program, unit or event.
Library teachers who wish to apply for most AASL awards must be personal members of AASL.

Winnebago Progressive School Library Media Award (discontinued)
This OEMA award, sponsored by Winnebago Software Company, was given to library media teachers who had implemented innovative programs to
enhance the lifelong learning skills of their students.
